At SJB, inclusivity is not merely a principle we uphold—it is a reflection of our understanding of God’s nature and our calling as a community. We believe that every person is made in the image of God, and that the love of Jesus Christ extends to all, without exception. This belief shapes every aspect of our communal life, from our worship and music to our fellowship and outreach.

Our commitment to inclusivity is rooted in the very being of God—a divine communion of love between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are created to mirror this relational love, living in community and mutual respect. When we gather for worship, we do so as a diverse body, united not by uniformity, but by our shared journey towards God.

Open to all

Our worship and communal life are intended to be authentically and faithfully ours—anchored in the traditions we cherish, shaped by our particular gifts, and yet always open to all. Our music, a central part of our identity, brings together individuals from many backgrounds to create something beautiful and transcendent. Through shared meals, celebrations on the green, and other moments of community, we live out our belief that church is not just a place of worship, but a place to belong.

Being part of the Inclusive Church network aligns with our mission of supporting Barnet to walk in God’s footsteps. It reinforces our dedication to being a community where all are welcomed, valued, and empowered to participate fully in the life of the church. We acknowledge that we may not always get everything right, but we are committed to learning, growing, and embodying the inclusive love of Christ in all we do.
