We are delighted to share some wonderful news: on Saturday, 29 August at 5 pm, the SJB Choir will be singing Choral Evensong at St Paul's Cathedral. This is a tremendous honour for our choir and a very special moment in the life of our parish.
This Evensong is being sung in observance of the Beheading of St John the Baptist, our patron saint, making it an especially meaningful occasion for our church community.
We warmly invite members of the congregation to join us in supporting the choir on this memorable day. We will travel together from SJB, and reserved seating has been arranged at the Cathedral for our group.
The music for the service will include: Leighton Responses; Psalm 118 (Whitlock); Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in B Minor (Noble); View Me, Lord (Lloyd).
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of Anglican choral worship in one of the world's most iconic cathedrals while supporting our choir in this significant achievement.
Following the service, those who wish are invited to continue the fellowship over dinner at Pizza Express (TBC), making the evening a joyful parish outing as well as a celebration of our choir's ministry.
