On Holy Saturday Evening (the 4th of April) we join for the Easter Vigil. We meet outside SJB at 8pm, and light a fire, the sign of light dawning in the darkness. We take lit candles into a dark, silent church, and hear the singing of the exultet: the ancient church’s Easter Hymn. We hear the story of God’s salvation plan played out through human history. Then finally, we announce that Jesus is risen. The celebrate, shout, ring bells. And then we’re joined in the Eucharist, the meal at which Jesus promises he is always with us.
